Shimano's new Ultegra 6800 SM-BBR60 Bottom Bracket was made with the same high level of precision that you've come to expect from the engineers at Shimano. The silky-smooth steel bearings, advanced sealing, and high manufacturing tolerances make the SM-BBR60 the perfect bottom bracket choice for either your English- or Italian-threaded frame.
The 6800 bottom bracket weighs in just around 76 grams, making it close to 15 grams lighter than its predecessor. In addition to the making the bottom bracket smaller and lighter, Shimano says that the design of the BBR60 reduces rotational friction by 50%. This is said to be due to advancements in Shimano's sealing technologies.

Needs a new BB tool
By: ArranBought the SM-BBR60 to replace a worn SM-BB9000 to save a few dollars but what a waste, even though the features of the BBR60 specifically mention trickle down from 9000 series, the tool for the BB9000 does not fit. Quote: "With trickle down technology from the class-leading Dura-Ace 9000, you get to share in Shimano’s best" No, I do not get to share. The included plastic adapter thing did the install fine but there is a high chance in a year or two, when I need to remove the BBR60 the plastic adapter will shear. This is what happened with the BB9000 which is why I bought the correct tool, now I need to buy another. Very very irritating Shimano.
