Shimano Altus Review
Ethan R.On my second time riding with my shimano Altus it caught itself up in the spokes of my wheel. My hanger was in fact bent but I put it down to the flimsiness of low end derailleurs such as the Altus that allows them to jump around when the bike is impacted.
Shogun Resoration
Stanley P.Bought the 7/8 speed derailleur for a restoration, its a close match for the original item and works very well.
all good

MR S.works well
Smooth. Works fine with 11-32 cassette.
SteveI changed the rear cassette on my road bike to a 11-32 (10sp) and went with this Altus RD-M310 derailleur because of its bigger jockey wheels (13t top & 15t bottom compared to usual 11t). It's much bigger than the 105 derailleur and about 80g heavier so it looks and feels a bit chunky, and it's only meant for 7-8 speeds, but it works fine on the 10sp setup and is very smooth. I've used a Shimano 105 CN-5701 Super Narrow HG 10 Sp chain, 110 links. Front gearset is 50-34.
Excellent

Good value
Miklos D.I have a top shelf groupset on my roadbike, and Altus on my flatbar. I'm happy with its performance... and it's price is low, which makes it easy to replace components when they're tired.
Easy to Install, and I'm Only 12
After I went way to hard on my bike in the woods with my friend (being the test-monkey in up to 20" deep puddles), my rear derailleur broke, so my mom, the real user, bought me a new one. It shipped here in about 4 days. When I got home from school and found it sitting in the box, I was EXTREMELY excited. I went into the garage, placed the tools on the ground, and started fixing my Schwinn bike. I thought it was going to be hard, but it was a piece of cake. I didn't even need the instructions! Who says fixing these parts of a bike is impossible? It's indeed a good product and is easily put on. Luckily, it didn't need any assembly and came in 1 piece. Now, my rear derailleur might break again cause I ride the bike way to much!!!!! I ride the bike every day about a mile and listen to my Ipod the whole way. I'm so thankful my bike is fixed. This is a good product and if you have doubts about buying this, back-up and rethink your answer. GOOD PRODUCT!!!!!
