Ian ClarkBy: Ian ClarkI needed an upgrade for my bike light due to losing my old one on rough roadworks. I chose the s12 1000 lumen because with the dark winter mornings too much light is barely enough. The light arrived on time and looking quite impressive. I fitted it to the bike and turned it on, then adjusted the light intensity down a tad as I didn't wish to cook toast with it at that stage. I did note that the strobe setting didn't activate and sent a message to Cycling Deal to let them know. I also didn't want to return the light because that would leave me without a light for those dark winter mornings previously mentioned. Cycling Deal were great, they agreed to let me keep the light and they would send a replacement anyway. The replacement light arrived on time and looking very impressive, but upon testing the strobe setting didn't work on this one either. Now it's worth mentioning at this point that there are two reasons I use my light. The first is obvious,TO SEE, the second is hopefully as obvious, TO BE SEEN, and the strobe setting is ideal for the second reason. When the mornings become lighter with the approach of spring, vision becomes secondary to visibility and if your light is not flashing at motorists, some of them tend to not see you. So I want a strobe setting on my light. I received a reply from Cycling Deal that upon checking the s12 no longer has a strobe setting because it is catering to the American market who do not favour the strobe light. I am therefore recommending this light to anyone who wants a very bright light, but you need to be aware that it won't flash. The battery unit is also a little on the bulky side and will not suit everyone. It is easy to mount ,and to use, and I can't fault the service I received from Cycling Deal.

carlo r.Light output is good, operates and performs as expected. The only small issue is the battery which when fully charged will last less than an hour if used on full power. For MTB trail rides at night this requires that a second battery is carried for long rides.
