Poorly built wheels
Bike RiderBy: Bike RiderThese wheels are extremely poorly built in Taiwan. I have only used the rear wheel so far and I replaced the tire immediately with a higher quality tyre. When the wheels arrived I noticed that the spokes did not have much tension, but the wheel seemed true, however after riding just 60km, just about all the spokes has unwound and lost tension, and I needed to re-true and dish the wheel from scratch. The other issue I had with these wheels is that the rim strip/tape is too loose and not wide enough and moved easily when installing a tyre, this caused me to get 2 internal punctures in 1 month with these wheels, compared to no internal punctures in 7 years of riding with various other wheels. Although I have not used the front wheel, it has similar poor tension on the spokes, which I'm sure will come completely unwound if I were to use it without tightening the tension on all the spokes. So although these wheels come with tyres and tubes already fitted, these wheels should not be put straight on your bike and ridden, but first you will need to re-tension the spokes/true and dish them and you will need to replace the rim tape.
