It does what it says
Andrew D.After 12 months on the bike I am fitter and have lost a fair amount of weight so its time to drop down the bar height. To do this I needed to remove the old star nut (with a piece of dowel and mallet) cut the steerer to length ( I used a standard plumbers pipe cutter) then installed the new star nut with this tool. The job took less than 30 minutes and worked flawlessly. Whilst I could have done the job without a specialist tool its not worth the risk on an expensive bike. My LBS quotes a standard fee of $50 + parts for this service and as I have 2 bikes I saved $100 ($80 after the cost of the tool). BTW there are plenty of good 3 minute YouTube videos on this subject and its worth watching one to make certain you install the star nut correctly to keep you safe out there.
